The One Thing Weight Loss Programs Don’t Tell You
If you’ve been looking for the right weight loss program, and if you’ve read anything about this, then
you’ve probably noticed that they virtually all say that losing weight is easy if you use their particular program. Losing weight is not
necessarily difficult. But it’s not necessarily easy either.
What is it exactly that makes losing weight so difficult? Well, part of the answer is getting the
right type of program or diet to get on. The other part of the answer is a little deeper.
In a way, your weight is a result, not a cause. You’re overweight essentially because of the food,
exercise, and lifestyle decisions you’ve made over the past ten or so years. Losing weight for you might not be just some new diet that you just
plug into your current lifestyle. Losing weight could actually require you to change the way your living,i.e. make a choice to live a lifestyle
that’s healthier. Let’s look at some lifestyle choices that would result in better health and probably a healthier weight.
Stress
Without doubt stress is a component of modern life that you just can’t avoid. But you can do a few
things about the stress in your life. One would be to deal with the cause of the stress. Actually solve, or in some way, mitigate the problem
that’s causing the stress, if possible. That’s not always possible, because many forces in our lives are out of our control. In that case, you’ll
need to adjust your reaction to the stress. One way to do this is to ...yep, you guessed it!...exercise more. Another way would be to read
spiritual literature, or self-help books that will give you a better perspective or better way of dealing with stress.
Exercise
Including exercise in your life is a lifestyle choice that will not only help you lose weight, but
also will better your overall health and well being. Here’s part of the difficulty with exercise. You have to make time for it.
Now, it doesn’t have to require a lot of time. If you’re not currently exercising at all, a 30 minute
walk will work wonders in your life. You’ll shed pounds and feel better than you’ve felt in a long time. Thirty minutes is not much of an
adjustment in your life, but still you’re going to have to rearrange some priorities in order to do this every day.
Sleep
Intimately related to stress is sleep. The more stress in your life, the harder it is for some people
to sleep. Some people react oppositely to stress and get depressed. Either way, this all can affect your sleep, which has a big effect on your
weight. Researchers have proven that people who sleep less than eight hours a night generally weight more than those who sleep eight hours or
more.
Sometimes your weight is just a matter of what you eat and how much you eat. Often, it’s a result of
deeper issues in your life. Solve those issues and you’ll solve your weight problem.
